EM100 Serial-to-Ethernet Module

The EM100 is Tibbo's original "orange block" 10BaseT serial-to-Ethernet (a.k.a. "serial-over-IP" or "SoI") module.

The EM100 carries the Ethernet magnetics onboard and thus requires only one external component — an RJ45 Ethernet connector.

The module is fully sealed (potted) for maximum environmental protection.

This device is compatible with Tibbo Device Server Toolkit (TDST) for Windows. TDST includes the Virtual Serial Port Driver (VSPD), which enables you to use the serial port of the module as a remote COM port of your PC. The Linux version of the VSPD is available as well.

  • 10BaseT Ethernet port with built-in magnetics.
  • One UART (CMOS):
    • Baudrates of up to 115,200bps;
    • None/even/odd/mark/space parity modes;
    • 7 or 8 bits/character;
    • Full-duplex mode with RTS/CTS flow control;
    • Half-duplex mode with direction control.
  • Four control lines for status LEDs:
    • Two control lines for green and red main status LEDs;
    • Control line for the Ethernet link LED;
    • Control line for the Ethernet collision LED.
  • Power: 50mA @ 5V.
  • Dimensions (LxWxH): 46.2 x 28 x 13mm.
  • Fully sealed (potted) housing.
  • Operating temperature range: -10 ~ +70C.
  • Firmware is upgradeable through the serial port or network.
